THE
INSTRUCTOR: Professor Avigdor Shinan
Department of Hebrew Literature, Hebrew University, Jerusalem
Professor Shinan has lectured in the Department of Hebrew Literature
at the Hebrew University since 1979 and became a Full Professor in 1999.
He has also served as Visiting Professor at Yale University, the Jewish
Theological Seminary and Yeshiva University.
Professor Shinan is the Editor of Kiryat Sefer, a bibliographical
quarterly of the Jewish National and University Library in Jerusalem.
Professor Shinan is the author of many books (see below) and over 100
articles in different languages. His main areas of research are:
Biblical Interpretation, Mishnah, Targum, Jewish Prayerbook.
